Have you tried my Margarita soap yet? I was thrilled to see it pictured on the front page of Etsy yesterday. Unfortunately I didn't get a screen shot of it before it disappeared, but here's a photo of the soap. It's such a refreshing scent with lime and a hint of salt.

New packaging...

My friends are always teasing me about the number of times I've changed my soap packaging over the past 10 years--personally I've lost count, but here it is! I have a love affair with pretty paper and stationary so have gone back to using it in my soap packaging. It's so fun poking around paper stores and choosing a paper to match each scent.

I've also changed my scrub and body butter packaging slightly.

Bad, bad blogger!

I'm such a slacker when it comes to blogging-but I have a good excuse. I've been super busy and opened a "brick and mortar" store recently. I held the grand opening on May 9th.

My shop is in Norwalk, Iowa-about a 15 minute drive from downtown Des Moines. I share a retail space, so i'm not there the entire time we're open. We're located at 1017 Main Street,

Suite 3. My building sign is not up yet, but I'm in the same suite as Bailey's.

The hours are:

• Monday-Thursday 7:00 am-7:00pm
• Friday 7:00 am-6:00 pm
• Saturday 9:00 am-12:00 pm

Hallmark Magazine

Hallmark Magazine has a 1 page feature devoted to an artist/artisan each issue called Things We Make. I was lucky to be chosen for the December/January 2009 issue. Here's a link to the article-Sublime Suds.

New soap!

I've added a new soap to my line. The fragrance is a combination of vanilla, cotton candy, hawthorn, maple and a hint of almond. Yum! It has pieces of my Sandalwood Vanilla soap

embedded throughout for visual appeal. You can buy it in my Etsy shop.

1000 Markets

I recently started selling my products on a new selling venue, 1000 markets I'm really excited about it. It's similar to Etsy but is brand new and is juried, so no resellers or "made in China" products there. The vendors can join specialty markets, like "Cheesecrafters" or "Artisans form the San Juan Islands". I've suggested a Handmade Soap & Skincare Market. Each shop has a blog feature and a facebook type "wall" where people can comment on your shop or items which adds to the community feel there.
